HOW YOUR GENEROSITY CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE AT PILGRIM PLACE
-
Unrestricted Gifts
Supporting our greatest needs, these gifts make life at Pilgrim Place possible. Examples of how such contributions are used include:
· critical health care services, including skilled nursing and memory care
· technology to connect and engage our residents among all levels of care
· life enhancement activities, including fitness and wellness programs
· caring for our beautiful campus
Resident Health and Support Program (RHSP)
Gifts to this fund ensure that all residents can continue their lives at Pilgrim Place with dignity and care. While residents plan and use their resources wisely, they may simply outlive their assets or suffer a catastrophic health event that exhausts their means. Since RHSP’s inception in 1935, residents have demonstrated care for one another by actively helping to raise these funds through many different ways, including the proceeds from the annual Festival event and First Saturday Sales.
Napier Initiative
Started in 2010, this intergenerational learning partnership between Pilgrim Place and the five undergraduate Claremont Colleges encourages creative ecological and social change. Gifts provide fellowship grants to students (whose projects are implemented around the world), mentoring opportunities between student fellows and Pilgrim Place residents, and undergraduate courses where Pilgrim Place elders learn alongside undergraduate students at the Claremont Colleges.

Pilgrim Place Endowment
Contributions to the endowment sustain Pilgrim Place’s mission and ensure the financial security of its intentional community for the long term. A modest portion of the endowment assets are distributed each year for operations, while the remaining assets remain invested to grow in perpetuity.
Davis Health Endowment
Funds from this restricted endowment are also invested, with the modest annual asset distribution directly supporting the Resident Health and Support Program (RHSP).
Campus Improvements
Known for its beautiful 32-acre historic campus, Pilgrim Place has significant capital needs each year. Such funds allow for the upkeep of the health facilities, independent residences, gathering spaces, and common areas. The organization also seeks funding to expand the greening of its residences and facilities, including an increase in all-electric options and greater efficiencies in water and energy.
