Festival at Pilgrim Place
Purpose - Since 1948 this two-day celebration has been a southern California tradition. This celebration is planned and organized by residents of the community to benefit Pilgrim Place's Resident Health and Support Program (RHSP). All proceeds provide financial support to those residents who have exhausted their resources and/or assist with emergency and medical costs.
Community Outreach - The immense amount of work Pilgrim Place residents do for the Festival is enhanced by the volunteer hours contributed by adults, young adults and students from the larger community. The cross generational involvement produces on-going friendships and a deeper understanding between individuals of various ages and experiences.
Fun for all ages - Observed the second Friday and Saturday of November every year, this event attracts thousands of people of all ages. Festival features a many-faceted marketplace and craft fair. Over the two days, you will find unique one-of-a-kind items created by residents and collectors bargains that are donated by community members and prepared for sale by residents. The fun includes children's games, sustainability education, tour rides on a ship-on-wheels and a train. Food is available at the food court, concession stand or the dining room for a full Thanksgiving meal.
