Pilgrim Place Festival

60th Annual Pilgrim Place Festival
Friday and Saturday, November 14 & 15, 2008

You are invited share in a unique “Pilgrim experience”—fun activities for people of all ages, rides, booths selling a variety of items (including creative crafts!), an authentic drama, terrific food. All celebrating the spirit of friendship and community that is Pilgrim Place.

Almost 60 years ago, an idea was born to hold an “open house” to better acquainted Claremont and surrounding communities with Pilgrim Place. This idea grew into what is now a two-day celebration that annually attractions people from throughout Southern California and involves all residents still able and more than 1,000 volunteers from the wider community.

Family at the Pilgrim Festival

Pilgrim Place residents work selflessly throughout the year to create crafts, prepare activities and attractions that will engage people of all ages—all for a worthy goal. Proceeds from this event go directly to support those residents who have dedicated their lives to serving others and who now need help themselves—currently more than 10% of current residents receive financial assistance.

As 2007 Festival Chair Mary Ida Gardner affirms, “The Festival is a convergence of purpose, celebration and caring that captures the essence of Pilgrim Place—residents working together to help one another and opening their hearts to individuals and families from beyond our gates.”
